BMS Bridge Design and Construction Project
Your bridge must:
• Be a suspension, semi-suspension, or cable-stayed bridge,
• Span a 3-foot long gap,
• Have a 6-inch wide span,
• Have between one and three towers.
There is no limit on the height of the towers.
You may bring in whatever materials you wish for your project, except for solid pieces of metal.
However, metal fasteners and wire are acceptable.
On Thursday we will test our bridges for the following criteria:
1. Weight load (20%)
2. Wind resistance (15%)
3. Seismic resistance (15%)
4. Weight of materials (15%)
5. Weight of materials : weight load ratio (25%)
6. Aesthetics (10%)
